How the job runs
We walk the space with you, mark up the plan for outlets, lights, switches and data, and confirm the panel has capacity. We pull the permit, complete the rough-in, and schedule the rough-in inspection before insulation and drywall. After finishing, we install devices and fixtures and complete the final inspection.
Code items to plan for
Renovations in Alberta are inspected to the Canadian Electrical Code as adopted in the province. That usually means arc-fault protection for most living-area circuits, ground-fault protection near water, dedicated kitchen circuits, and interconnected smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. We build these into the plan from the start.
Common questions
Do I need a permit for basement electrical?
Yes. Basement developments require an electrical permit and inspections at rough-in and final. We handle both.
Can you work with my contractor?
Yes. We regularly work alongside general contractors, framers and other trades, and coordinate rough-in timing with the build schedule.
Will my panel handle a basement suite?
We check with a load calculation. Some homes need a sub-panel or service upgrade for a suite; we’ll explain the options.
